Stayed here the last couple of nights with a tour group I was driving. Location is perfect, room I was in was spacious, clean and comfortable. Food was lovely. Massive thank you to the waiting staff though, 2 guys and a girl looked after us and the 3 of them were cheery and friendly. Staff like this can make a massive difference to hotels.

Excellent visit to this hotel. Friendly and helpful staff added to superb dinner and full Scottish breakfast makes this an "I'll be back" experience. The only criticism I could find was the antiquated lift which either worked well or didn't work depending on it's mood. After a strong word with the very modern lady who announces the floors, it seemed to improve markedly.

Fantastic location,excellent value and very good customer service. It's just over 100 years old and has been well looked after. Bathrooms are updated tastefully and clean. Lovely breakfast is provided. Beds not so great but for the price, it's more than acceptable. If you require elevator, it is an old elevator of course and small, I think that is a European thing though. It's about 2 blocks from train station and it is on the waterfront so you have outstanding views everywhere. We had an excellent time.
