Craigdarroch Hotel Thomas Rigg Review

Without a doubt one of the most beautiful hotels we have ever stayed at. The hosts couldn’t have been more accommodating and personable, providing us with interesting information regarding the area (and the whisky!). This is exactly how we envisaged a hotel in Loch Ness to be, with plenty of charm and a reassuring feeling of nostalgia. We will definitely return in the future. If you want a truly unique hotel, this is the one. The views are truly breathtaking. Thank you for a memorable stay.

Craigdarroch Hotel Review Suy Batey

Amazing food - we came for a drink in the pub and the owner very kindly found us a table for an early dinner. We are so so glad we were able to eat here, as the food was wonderful (the chorizo sauce on the chicken was unreal) and the view over the Loch was second to none. A wonderful business, great food, friendly staff.

This is a well placed hotel, stunning views and top notch food and drink. The Hotel team are actively looking out to make your stay the very best possible. The restaurant is well worth booking, as local Hotel guest seem to gravitate to the Hotel as it's service's a so good along with the well stocked Bar. I have no problem recommending the Craigdarroch Hotel, I only wish we could have stayed longer, a little off the beaten track only adds to the peace and quiet of the location. Also only a short drive to the amazing Foyers Falls, well worth a visit.

We were staying in the lodges next door and came for drinks on Saturday, and lunch on Sunday. We were very well looked after both times and the food was exceptional. The views were stunning too, a truly great place to chill. We very much hope to visit again sometime.

The rooms are beautiful and welcoming, the food is stellar, the whisky and gin selections are great, and the service is absolutely delightful. All of that alone would be marvellous, but to top it all off the view is just stunning. I recommend booking a Loch-facing room if you can.

Must be one of the nicest beer gardens in the UK. The view is insanely good and the beer is also decent. We didn’t stay in the hotel, but only went to visit for drinks a couple of times. It’s a shame they don’t do lunch every day but it wouldn’t put me off returning, if not just for drinks and the view!

Well, this place is absolutely beautiful. The owners have only had it for 2 years and have done a fantastic job. It has an old-world charm that makes you feel right at home, the rooms are large and well presented, the beds and pillows are super comfortable, and the bathroom is clean and tidy. Now the restaurant, the food was the best food we have had whilst being in the UK, even the haggis was palatable (First time having Haggis in Scotland, as when I had it in Australia it was woefull). The view from the bedroom window and the restaurant is breathtaking. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay on Loch Ness.

No words I offer will do justice for this beautiful gem nestled on the banks of Lochness in the Highlands of Scotland. As a regular guest, I look forward to each visit knowing the relaxation and tranquility that awaits me from luxurious comfort, breathtaking views and mouthwatering food. For me consistency is key, and the Craigdarroch Team certainly deliver every time. The staff are very friendly and approachable, the rooms are of a high standard with great attention to detail to ensure your comfort, and the food.. well the food is incredible. The only hard part is deciding what to choose from the beautiful new menu. If you can time your stay to coincide with the Sunday Roast I promise you will not be disappointed. Looking out over the beautiful scenery, in a relaxed and friendly setting with a 3 course lunch cooked to perfection and the biggest, fluffiest Yorkshire Puddings; I make the trip just for this experience when I’m in the area as it’s the highlight of my weekend. Thank you Richard and Nigel for your exceptional hospitality, I’m looking forward to my next visit already!
