Dungallan Country House Bed And Breakfast Review Nathalie Herling
An accidental find that turned out to be absolutely Dreamy. Brand new refinishing of a lovely hotel in a fabulous vantage point. The whole staff were like inviting you into a magical house. The rooms were very elegant Scottish and the culture of the area was chic and authentic. A lovely dinning room, bar and perfectly appointed large rooms. This place was once a Dukes home and you feel it as you explore the grounds. Its less than a 10 min walk right into the center of town though an attractive peaceful road with ocean view. Very close to the Ferry and Train. We came to Oban to go to the Oban Distillery and it was an easy walk to it all. A great town to explore and have amazing seafood...oysters, mussels, fish...The lovely couple who manage this hotel treats you like Royalty. They will go out of their way to accommodate and give you ideas of great place to visit. Incredible Whisky selection for the connoisseur, wines and nice gins in the large elegant lounge off a big garden. Kim and all the staff treated you like they wanted us to feel so at home. The Breakfast was massive with many local choices. Lovely town and this magical hotel is a perfect compliment to relax and feel spoiled! A don't miss gem and highly recommended.

This was a birthday trip for my wife and turned into such a wonderful weekend escape. The location, setting and building is superb, the tasteful, warm and stylish interior design made for a special stay. Our room was immaculate and the small personal touches made us feel at home and relaxed straight away. The common areas of the house are delightful, we spent our evenings relaxing in the welcoming and well stocked bar where we were superbly hosted by Simon who made us feel so welcome. Both Kirsty and Simon gave us such a genuine friendly yet professional service that left us no option but to return next year, helped by the promise of round of golf with Simon. Oh and for the record the breakfast was delightful. Trip type

Beautiful accommodation. Kirsty and Simon and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful go out of their way to make you feel at home, offering advice on where to eat and what is going on in Oban. The hotel has a great relaxing atmosphere with extremely comfortable bedrooms. Cannot praise them enough. Would not hesitate to recommend the hotel to family and friends and we will certainly be returning.

Yesterday we celebrated a special birthday for our Mum with a high tea at Dungallan Country House. It was a really lovely and special experience. The warmest of welcomes were offered to us from Kirsty and Simon to their beautifully refurbished hotel. The food was on point, well presented and so delicious. Really great value for money and such an asset to Oban. A ‘perfect 10’ afternoon.

We arrived as darkness was closing in and were warmly welcomed by Simon and Kirsty. This husband & wife team are made for hospitality - the perfect blend of relaxed and professional. Dungllan County House has recently undergone a serious renovation and the hotel is now outstanding. The decor is impeccable - publics spaces and bedrooms are luxurious and welcoming. We were lucky to stay in The Duke of Argyll suite with dual aspect to the islands of Mull and Kerrera as well as Oban and McCaigs Tower. The well stocked bar was perfect for a pre-dinner drink. Breakfast was delicious with an interesting selection of local food cooked to order. We saw guests enjoying afternoon tea - this looked beautifully presented......definitely on the cards for our next visit!

An absolute delight to stay here. The house is full of character and the choice of furnishings are just so complimentary. I think some items may have been original but have been made into contemporary pieces... stunning 😍. Top to toe, Simon, Kirsty and staff are so friendly and happy to help in any way. Breakfast 😋 different choice for me each day and cooked to my liking. Our room.....wow!! Plus spacious, sparkly clean and comfy big bed!! Highly recommend

Fantastic experience staying here! Simon and Kirstie were just lovely. The room was beautiful with a great view, and the bathroom was outstanding! Best place we stayed at in Scotland, and we stayed in some nice places. Great location in Oban. Lovely views of Oban and Kerrera island. Great whiskey selection in the lounge.
