Spectacular views across the loch, a few minutes walk from some fantastic restaurants and truly fantastic hosts. I went as part of an Islay whisky tour (something else that I'd highly recommend for any fans of whisky) and we were treated to a huge and delicious breakfast every morning, catering to each dietary need (I have a severe but allergy and someone else was a celiac). They hosts were knowledgeable, entertaining and generally lovely people. The room was spacious and had a large en-suite with a bath and shower. You could see for miles across the loch and I regularly watched the mists roll in from the sea. If you're going to Islay and need a place to stay I highly recommend you stay here.

GENUINE HOSTS, IMMACULATE B&B After walking for two days straight our legs needed a rest and we managed to book a room right at the last minute. So lucky to have found this place. Andrew and Alison were friendly, kind and informative. They helped us find somewhere to eat for our evening meal and they cooked us breakfast.....delicious! Room was spotless, hot shower (even a bath!) Just like a home away from home. Thanks for accommodating us, hopefully we will visit again in the future 😊

Sheer perfection in B&B form. We stayed in the guest house Gowanbrae next door. The view from the front door is below. Every morning we'd go over to the main house for a delicious breakfast and a chat w the owners Andrew and Alison. They gave us many wise and helpful recommendations for what to see on-island, and in the end we felt we got a much better appreciation for Islay beyond merely the whiskies (though they knew these too!) Property was extremely comfortable with modern amenities. We hope to return to Islay, and will cetainly stay at Bowmore House if we do.
