Local review Judy Curran Wow sums up the location. Wonderful house to stay in, a family home. Loved the swim in loch riddon & the canoeing too. Recommendations are the colintraive hotel for food & drink - be sure to book though (as with everywhere from September on), Bute (a must with the ferry so close by), Oystercatcher Bar at Otter Ferry is a wonderful location and drive; the boat house cafe on Dunoon's west bay for lunch and a stroll while supermarket shopping & good priced fuel in dunoon too; also try Lorne bar there for a full meal. Viewpoint at tignabruich is a must and hopefully you can get into one of the three hotel/pubs there. Kilmoden stones down the road worth a visit and walk to modens well.Overall a stunningly quiet and peaceful area. Thanks to Roger for making us (ages 56-91) & our dog feel so welcome here. Argyll's secret coast is not so secret now 👌 P.s. we had oils, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, dog food, treats & bowls, poo bags, toilet rolls, kitchen roll, jams, tea, coffee, sugar, salt, pepper, bin liners, foil, kitchen roll & the best stocked set of plates, cutlery, bowls, knives & kitchen gadgets you could ever wish for....oh and you'll not be short of books to read games to play or DVD's to watch if SKY TV isn't enough. No problem with phone or internet here.

This place is absolutely incredible! If you're looking for a breath of fresh air, there isn't anywhere better. The house itself is done out so gorgeously - feels like a proper family home. And then there's the views! 😍 Honestly, you can't put it into words! It has its own private beach which was lovely for spending evenings on or if you prefer, the decking at the back of the house is great too. There are lots of different tourist attractions not too far away either, such as Mount Stewart & the Spa at Portavadie (highly recommend both). You'll need a car to get around as it is in the middle of nowhere but that's what makes this place such a perfect getaway. Will definitely be booking again soon!
