After weary travels, nothing like the smell of a real fireplace and warmth to greet you. This was our favorite stay whist in Scotland. The lobby and the rooms were so beautiful and the staff welcoming. Lovely breakfast and dinner! In the morning, didn't realize it had such beautiful views of the nearby loch.

We stayed for two nights and the hotel was fully booked at the time. It had a nice atmosphere and didn't feel overly crowded or busy. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable and we had a view of the loch. The restaurant has a panoramic view of the loch. Good choice at breakfast with a buffet if cereal, yoghurts, pastries and meats and cheeses and fruit juice. Table service for hot food which included porridge, kippers and full Scottish fry up. We didn't eat dinner in the hotel but the food looked good and had options for eating in the restaurant or the bar. The staff accommodated us for a slightly earlier breakfast on the day of departure as we were in a rush. Bar was cosy and comfortable and the prices of drinks were about average. Would recommend if you bare in the area and if it is within your budget.

The location of this hotel is quite remote but adjacent to the sea loch provides some stunning views from your bedroom and meals. The staff really make a difference to your stay here. Mihai and Isaac are exceptional at making you feel welcome at the hotel bar, engaging in conversation with you and being very very helpful for all things. Bar has Guiness and Loch Fyne Blonde, Lager and IPA on tap only. The restaurant staff are so helpful and accommodating, going out of their way to ensure you're happy with your food and drink with a smile. The rooms are very good quality with views or over the loch which are breathtaking. Be mindful of the location and that Tarbert also doesn't really cater for evening dining. Such a great stay for us both, completely switched off, didn't want to leave to be honest! So grateful for the staff making it a wonderful break for us both.

We have been there a couple of times, more for the walk around the island just down the gardens of the hotel. Perfect little walk, especially to see the seals on the loch side of the island, finished off with a nice coffee in one of the lounges of the hotel. One day we may take advantage of their afternoon tea, although it says you have to give 24 notice to get one.... Overall a great place to visit for the walk as well as the coffee and other such treats 🤣

Beautiful hotel, a little tired in some areas but the ambience more than makes up for that, wonderful open fires fabulous bar and library, l follow a vegan diet and was surprised how much there was for me to eat with the restaurant staff being more than helpful. My lasting thoughts of this hotel are warm friendly staff, beautiful food a welcoming atmosphere. Definitely 5 star.

This is a beautiful property, gorgeous rooms and views and food. The only issue was the bed was an original from 1950 or something, lumpy and hard and horrendous. It was the only negative thing and if they would just replace that the whole stay would have been better. I would still stay again just because everything else was so lovely. Rooms: 4
