Riva Boutique Hotel Review (Ian McNamara)
What a surprise! A record player with vinyls, a decent coffee machine, a large soft bed and a huge TV. Clearly a great deal of thought has gone into the rooms. Probably the best all round rooms in Helensburgh. The food in the restaurant was simply divine. Mussels followed by Greek style pork chops for me - hot, plentiful and full of flavour. Finally, the staff were friendly and helpful in all areas. For those who remember it, this is NOT The Imps! Most strongly recommended. Thanks to all at the Riva for a great stay.

We were attending a wedding at Cameron House and staying for an extra day to celebrate our own 1st Wedding anniversary. We searched numerous expensive options and eventually came across this boutique hotel about 15 minutes from Cameron House in Helensburgh. My wife and I were both very impressed both with the quality and design of the rooms but also the friendly staff, lively bar and decent pizzas on offer. I'm very happy to have found this little hotel as it's certain that we would have paid much more for much less elsewhere. Thank you for looking after us during our stay.

Lovely restaurant, lovely and well presented meals, excellent position right on the shoreline of Helensburgh, our food was initially a bit slow in coming but to be fair it was well worth the wait, towards the end of our meal we had the pleasure of the chef visit our table, he was a very nice chap, he was delighted with our feedback at the table, portions were enormous, we didn't finish our starters or mains. We plan to go back soon and sample more but think it might need to be mains only!!!! We didn't have a room so I have not left info on them

The best prawn linguine I've ever had. Absolutely amazing flavour and good portion size with plenty prawns. My wife had carbonara which was equally as good with nice big lardons of pancetta through it and a rich creamy sauce. Dishes were served with a ramakin of parmesan to add how you like. The staff were very polite and well mannered. We sat in the outside seating area which is on the main walkway but has glass screens around which are frosted to give you privacy. I felt we could of been anywhere in the world for lunch. Lovely tables and chairs and nice atmosphere with a Mediterranean feel. Also very reasonably priced. Great lunch. 👍 Well done Riva and thanks. We'll be back again.
